Medical Aesthetician -
Garden City South, NEW YORK

Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, P.C. is expanding and currently looking for a Medical Aesthetician to work in our Aesthetic Center. The Medical Aesthetician will provide consultations and treatments to patients who are looking to rejuvenate their appearance in various ways.

The Medical Aesthetician will:
·         Provide facials, various peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, and other services that are offered by the Aesthetic Center.
·         Conduct skin care assessments with VISIA Complexion Analysis.
·         Create a safe and welcoming environment for new and existing patients.
·         Maintain a good attitude and show enthusiasm around patients and other AC employees.
·         Suggest and recommend home care regimen to all patients as part of facial services.
·         Comply with HIPAA regulations.
·         Have OSHA compliance.

Requirements:
·         5 years of experience as a licensed aesthetician.
·         NYS Aesthetic License
·         Knowledge of skin care products
·         Availability to work Saturdays and evenings.

Job Description:
Evaluates, plans and administers aesthetic skin care and treatments to patients. Performs under the direct supervision of the physician. Performs professional aesthetic work of considerable difficulty including the care of clients as outlined by the protocols and policies of the department.
 
Job Qualifications:
Job related course work beyond High School including successful completion and certification from an accredited aesthetics program with at least six (6) months Aesthetician experience, 1 year preferred, and current SC Aesthetician License required. Required skills and competencies include; basic keyboard knowledge and basic computer skills.

High school diploma or equivalent, current State of Texas Cosmetology license as a Licensed Skin Care Specialist, and one (1) year experience in medical office.

Job Duties
Performs various skin care treatments, i.e., Glycolic facials, permanent pigment, and Obagi skin care with blue peels.
Provides skin care consultations; develops individual skin care regimen and teaches necessary skills to ensure best results.
Provides post-operative patient care to include laser dressing changes, suture, dressing removals, and application of restorative makeup.
Assists physician with patients.
Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
