Exfoliating treatments are a must on every spa's menu of offerings, and the starting point for other body treatments, such as body wraps. Malinda McHenry, a licensed aesthetician and instructor, walks you through the steps of providing three full body exfoliation treatments in a dry room setting: dry brush exfoliation (the standard method used prior to other treatments), gel-based chemical exfoliation, and the classic salt body scrub. In this instructional, online, continuing education course she covers all the steps from preparation to the finishing touches that your clients will love. She discusses room and table set-up, supplies, available product types, client preparation, and benefits and contraindications. She also shows step-by-step how to mix and prepare products, drape and position clients, keep clients warm, stimulate lymphatic flow, remove products in a dry room setting, and provide a pre- and post-treatment client consultation.
Enhance your skin care knowledge with dry brushing, body polishing, chemical exfoliation, and body scrubs with this course. Use exfoliating gloves to remove the Dead Sea salt scrub to leave your client’s skin soft and polished. Ground up Dead Sea salt, walnut shells, apricot seeds and pumice are all different exfoliants found in scrubs. These are just a couple of things you’ll learn in this body scrubs course.
